The Bluesky crowd is spreading lies about our HHS report. Nowhere in our report do we ever claim that "trans people are violent, authoritarian, anti-democratic, and extremist." In fact, our report isn't about trans people at all! We found left-wing authoritarianism and agreement with "gender-affirming" norms both positively, and independently, predicted support for political violence. Only about 1% of our survey respondents identified as transgender. Our study wasn't about the views and opinions of trans people. However, we do raise concerns that extreme rhetoric, such as claims that a "trans genocide" is currently underway, or that, as the Bluesky post below states, our report is "a pretense for horrors to come," may be a significant contributor to support for political violence. From our report: "This prediction is consistent with broader research showing that perceived threat, existential threat, and collective victimhood can increase support for hardline, punitive, or exclusionary action against outgroups, particularly when paired with authoritarian dispositions or strong moral conviction."
