If you’re driving manually and a frontal crash is about to happen… and braking alone may not be enough… FSD can turn itself on to try to keep the car safe. Or if the car thinks you’re not paying enough attention… like reaching into the back seat. Or if FSD got turned off by accident, for example. The software steps in when a human is about to mess up. You see… Most driver-assist stuff waits for you to stay perfect. This one is built for the moment you are not. Tesla also says that alone is about 20% faster reaction time with better training, vision, parking, emergency vehicles, school buses, small animals. This is still Supervised and is still your job to pay attention, but this is a real last-ditch layer. My pickup truck that already is the safest in the world just became even safer.
