Just sharing my deep thoughts here…
A lot of people go through life working for a paycheck.
They wake up, go to work, come home, repeat.
Some never figure out what they’re truly passionate about.
And even fewer are lucky enough to find that passion, chase it, and somehow turn it into what they get to do every day.
I think about that a lot…
This morning I’m sitting here sipping coffee out of a Tesla mug, while my Tesla FSD takes me to my destination, connected via Starlink, sharing this feeling with people around the world.
And sometimes I just look around and think… man, life is beautiful.
I’m surrounded by things I genuinely love.
And the wild thing is that none of this started w/ some giant master plan.
I started by simply talking about Tesla.
That was it.
I talked about the things I was already spending my time thinking about anyway for investing.
Then one thing led to another.
Talking about Tesla turned into experiencing Tesla.
Experiencing it turned into getting invited to things I never imagined I would attend.
𝕏 turned into real friendships.
Names on a screen turned into people I got to meet in real life.
People from completely different parts of the world started following my journey.
And somehow something I would have happily done for free became a big part of what I get to do for a living.
There are moments when I have to pinch myself.
Bc the life I’m living today was once the kind of life I would have daydreamed about.
And now… it’s just… my life.
I also understand that the bigger your life becomes publicly, the more opinions people are going to have about you.
Some people will love what you do.
Some people will hate it.
Some will misunderstand you.
Some will decide who you are without ever meeting you.
That comes with being visible.
Look at Elon…
Whatever someone thinks about him personally, the level of attention around him is hard to even comprehend. Tesla dealerships and vehicles that the team has put blood, sweat, and tears into have literally been targeted with vandalism and arson.
Think about how extreme that is…
A person builds companies, products and technology changing the future for the better, and eventually the feelings surrounding that person become so strong that people are willing to destroy things carrying the company’s name.
Or look at Steve Jobs.
Imagine helping create Apple… and then being pushed out of the company you helped build.
Most people would have carried that rejection for the rest of their lives.
He eventually came back.
And the second chapter became the chapter people remember most.
Those stories remind me…
You cannot build an interesting life while expecting everyone to understand it.
The more you put yourself out there, the more people have something to say.
And this life means that if you’re going to chase something publicly, you better become comfortable with the fact that not everyone is going to clap for you.
That’s the double-edged sword.
Being seen means being judged.
Being successful means having people question how you got there.
Doing something different means people who chose a different path may not understand yours.
And I’m okay with that.
Bc if you gave me the choice again…
I would choose this life 11 times out of 10 bc my time feels like it’s mine.
I wake up excited about what I’m doing.
I’m building things I actually care about.
I’m meeting people I never imagined I’d meet.
I’m seeing things I used to only read about.
And I get to share the entire ride with millions of people along the way.
That’s worth so much more to me than spending the rest of my life building someone else’s dream while wondering what would’ve happened if I had chased my own.
Finding your passion is rare.
Having the courage to chase it is even rarer.
And getting the opportunity to live it every day… is something I will never take for granted.
This isn’t the dream anymore.
It’s my life.
And I’m incredibly thankful for it.
