OKX CEO Star: OKX May Terminate Services for Accounts Confirmed to Be Involved in High-Risk or Illegal Activities
In response to a user whose transfer from a sports betting platform to OKX triggered a risk-control review, OKX CEO Star Xu said deposits from high-risk addresses may trigger stricter anti-money laundering (AML) and risk-control checks. Depending on the circumstances, such reviews may last 15 days or longer, during which some account functions and funds may be restricted.
For accounts confirmed to be involved in high-risk or illegal activities, OKX may terminate services directly. Star specifically noted that funds obtained through channels including, but not limited to, escrowed transactions in Telegram groups, Huiwang and its variants may pose significant compliance risks regarding source of funds, and reminded users not to use OKX accounts for money laundering, fraud, illicit fund transfers or other illegal activities.
