I get why so many people are jaded by crypto I’ve been here since 2017 back when > bittrex was around > privacy coins were all the rage > and when people were excited for the next bitcoin fork we lived through defi summer led by @uniswap, we saw mark cuban call for the decentralization of finance, just to get rugged immediately after and beg for regulation as a result all of this of course preceding the legendary NFT bull run that really brought the masses in that starry eyed optimism for crypto as a world changing technology that most of us had back then feels gone but i think it’s been replaced with something even better for many people it turned into pessimism for myself and many others it turned into realism realistically speaking, blockchain and crypto has never had more of an impact on people’s lives than right now > stablecoins as a hedge against countries w/ massive inflation > the democratization of access to region restricted assets (US stocks for example) > a realization from every major company and government in the world that if they don’t adopt blockchain, they’ll be left behind the 20 year old me back in 2017 would’ve heard the above and laughed at how impossible all of it sounds the 29 year old me now makes me proud to be in an industry that is having such an incredible impact globally so while it’s easy to feel discouraged bc of prices, a “lack of innovation” from projects, or insert complaint here - I have one request for you be the change you want to see in just the past 4 weeks there’s been more excitement on the timeline than there has been for a long time bc of great builders I’m no dev, but I’d say im an OK consumer + disperser of information (aka content creator) and as a result I’m consuming and dispersing like a mfer on this timeline rn If you’re a builder, build If you’re a creator, create If you’re a consumer, consume you’ll never know what impact you would’ve had if you never gave it your all to begin with but one thing is for sure there’s no room for pessimists in a future that will realistically run on blockchains it’s ok to believe in something 💙
