A private contract can settle on Bitcoin without going on-chain, looking like an ordinary transaction outside.
The anchor makes this possible, a transaction ID and cryptographic proof tying the commitment to Bitcoin.

RGB Bytes: an anchor is what ties an RGB contract to the blockchain. It bundles everything a verifier needs: the transaction ID carrying the commitment, and the proof that a given contract sits inside it. The link between off-chain state and on-chain settlement, in one structure.
