3 a.m., a payment-processor host spikes to 97% CPU. The on-call engineer reboots the box and closes the ticket. That's it. 🕵️ Six hours earlier, an attacker had already planted a cryptominer disguised as a kernel thread on that same host, quietly beaconing out to a mining pool every 15 minutes. Neither ops nor security caught it, because the CPU metrics and the process security events lived on two different platforms. 💡 Elastic's blog, "The security attack that hid inside your observability data" ( argues this miss is structural, not human error. Put observability metrics and security events on the same platform, and an AI agent can correlate a CPU spike with a suspicious process creation event and a strange DNS query in one context window, confirming the threat before a human ever has to hop between tools. 🔐 Feed the same platform your actual incident response playbooks, and instead of generic advice like "isolate the host," the AI can surface the exact approval chain and notification deadline, traceable back to the specific regulatory document, not just a model's best guess. Attackers never respected the boundary between your tools. It might be time your defenses stopped respecting it too. #SecOps# #Observability#
