Matt Haig is famous for writing "The Midnight Library" which sold more than 10 million copies and has more than 2.5 million reviews on Goodreads.
He unapologetically writes for a big audience. That's a taboo thing to say in the writing world even though basically every writer wants more readers. So the question is: Are you betraying the craft if you explicitly try to reach as many people as possible?
We also talked about how to tell better stories, how AI will change writing, and what to think about whenever you write a first draft.
