🇵🇱| 11 July is a day of remembrance for the victims of the Volhynia massacres. In 1943, during the so-called “Bloody Sunday,” thousands of innocent Polish civilians - mostly women, children, and the elderly - were brutally murdered by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army. The number of victims reached 100,000. It remains one of the most tragic chapters in Europe’s 20th-century history. As the ECR Group, we reaffirm our unwavering support for Ukraine in the face of Russia’s aggression. Ukraine’s fight is also a fight for Europe’s security. At the same time, Ukraine’s path to the European Union must be built on truth, justice, and respect for the victims. There can be no lasting reconciliation without an honest reckoning with history and a clear rejection of the ideologies responsible for these crimes. Memory and truth do not divide - they form our shared European identity that we must fight for 🇪🇺
