Bluechip has upgraded the $USDT safety rating from D to C. This is the first rating that incorporates Hacken's cybersecurity methodology into @bluechip_org's SMIDGE framework. As the methodology expands across Bluechip’s rated stablecoins, like $RLUSD, $PYUSD, $USDC, and 26 more, risk teams can now compare stablecoin architectures against fixed criteria rather than interpret each system in isolation. Stablecoins are classified into four structural classes, assessed for six technical-risk categories, and use defined fatal states that can override the numerical score. The updated methodology adds greater technical cybersecurity depth to the SMIDGE framework. For $USDT, Hacken assessed Tron, Ethereum, and Solana, representing 98% of native supply. The technical profile documents signer concentration, cross-chain key reuse, and privileged actions without timelocks.
