The case for making art.
You make art because you need to. An urge to express, offload, to put it out there. A feeling you so deeply feel – that to merely contain within you is not enough. Nowhere near enough.
So you grab the medium most natural for you. And after you paint the first stroke, you experience a wave of catharsis. You suddenly see the world in all its vivid colors. Where was this all along?
As artists, this feeling we seek continues with us. When we drift too far from it, we feel pulled back. We are born in a world where we can't help but see romantically and full of meaning. The highs. The lows. We feel it all.
I cannot speak for all artists, but this pull is what gets me going back to art. Every single time.
Every day, I yearn for the piano. For the pen. For the brush.
