Four of Europe's biggest phone companies want to compete with Starlink from space.
Between them they own zero satellites.
Deutsche Telekom, Orange, Telefonica and Vodafone signed a letter of intent today to explore a joint bid for the EU's satellite-to-phone airwaves.
They'd build the ground side in Europe and pick a satellite partner later.
Starlink is already sending texts straight to regular phones from orbit. Anyone can sign a letter of intent.
