I hit 200,000 followers.
I joined X in September 2024, so it took me a little under two years to get here.
Honestly, the past few days have been rough for me.
Someone tried to dig up my personal information, managed to identify some of it, and spread it around.
Lately, whenever I see new replies, I have not always had the courage to read them. I have been afraid of what kind of abuse might be waiting there.
But I also looked through the replies to some of the posts mocking me for my age, and people’s perception of me was much kinder than I had expected. It made me feel proud that I may have contributed something worthwhile to this community and conducted myself reasonably well along the way.
I have also received many encouraging messages in my DMs. I am deeply grateful for them.
I would like to clear up a couple of misunderstandings.
1. Jukan bought 2x leveraged SK Hynix at the top in June?
No. I have held a memory position since January, and the part about buying leveraged Hynix in June was a joke. I do not have the guts to run leverage, and my boss and I make jokes like that sometimes. I had no idea that making that kind of joke publicly would bring this much mockery down on me.
2. Is Jukan merely pretending to be an analyst while doing nothing more than quoting other analysts and news reports?
If you have mostly seen my posts on X, I can understand why you might feel that way. But you can find more of my original research and analysis in Citrini’s institutional reports and on our Substack.
Because I work for a firm, there are limits to how much of that work I can share publicly on X. I hope people can understand that.
As for why I appeared to change my view on memory, I said at the time that my long-term thesis had not changed. Still, many people seem to have interpreted my comments as me turning bearish on memory altogether. That was not my intention, although I accept that I could have expressed myself more clearly.
At that time, with HBM content getting nerfed, I thought that even though this was clearly a supply problem and not a demand problem, people would take it bearishly, so memory stocks could perform poorly from a trading perspective. That is why I wrote what I wrote. But it snowballed into something far bigger than I intended.
If I could go back to that moment, I would not write that post.
Watching people I have never met at all hurl abuse at me is more painful than I expected. I used to think of being an influencer as something trivial, but it turns out to be harder than I ever imagined.
This ended up being a more vulnerable post than I intended.
But I got here because of all of you who have read, shared, and supported my work.
Thank you.
