$QCOM CEO Cristiano Amon on HBC as agentic AI becomes the norm on all devices. “Some of those future agentic AI devices that you have seen, they may process up to 1M tokens per day on the device while remaining available throughout the day.” HBC (High Bandwidth Compute) uses 3D stacked low power memory and places AI compute closer to that memory, dramatically reducing the amount of data that needs to move around the chip. That means higher AI performance with much better power efficiency, which is critical for running agentic AI all day on a battery powered device. HBC was originally developed for the data center and $QCOM is now scaling it down to smartphones and then to laptops, smart glasses and cars too.
