THE "STRIPE FOR AI" IS ABOUT TO BE OWNED BY STRIPE Stripe has finalized a deal to buy AI gateway startup OpenRouter for more than $7 billion, according to Bloomberg, capping talks first reported last month. OpenRouter, which lets customers route tasks across more than 400 AI models from a single access point, raised a $113 million Series B in May at a reported $1.3 billion valuation, backed by Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, Menlo Ventures, and $GOOGL CapitalG. That means a roughly fivefold markup in about three months, though Stripe says it does not comment on rumors or speculation.
