The trial is an existential risk for the company - openai broke its founding promise. it’s the biggest open bait and switch ever. that said, the actions of Sam and Greg also are understandable - they did what needed to be done - scale massively, grow revenue, compete. to not do so would be foolish. but it clearly betrayed the organization’s founding goals. Anthropic and Google are poised to take all in the case of a harsh ruling.
