The strike group is centered on the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) and includes the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Robert Smalls (CG-62) and Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG-86). With the arrival of the Washington CSG, the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) CSG will soon begin its month long journey home to San Diego.
