FIRMUS SIGNS MULTI-YEAR OPENAI AI INFRA DEAL NVIDIA-backed Firmus will supply OpenAI with dedicated compute from two new AI factory sites in Malaysia, making OpenAI an anchor customer. The deal pushes Firmus past 900 MW of contracted capacity across a network of 7 AI factories in 4 countries, with 2 operational and 5 more under development. The Malaysia sites will deploy NVIDIA $NVDA Vera Rubin NVL72 systems using NVIDIA’s DSX platform alongside Firmus’ HyperCube infrastructure for power, liquid cooling, networking and accelerated compute. Firmus says the architecture is designed to bring capacity online faster and lower the cost of producing AI tokens. Firmus was valued at more than $10.5B in its latest funding round and is reportedly considering an IPO as soon as this year. This is stronger because the angle becomes OpenAI + 900 MW + Vera Rubin + regional AI factory buildout, rather than just “Firmus signs OpenAI.”
