Denmark’s 🇩🇰 central bank raised its 2026 GDP growth forecast to 4% from 1.8%, largely due to stronger-than-expected pharmaceutical exports tied to Novo.
The bank said $NVO's U.S. sales and production were the main driver of extraordinary pharma growth in the first half.
One caveat: much of the production happens outside Denmark, so the headline GDP numbers overstate the improvement in domestic prosperity. Q2 GDP rose 4.6% YoY, while real gross national income increased just 0.2%.
Growth is expected to slow to 2.3% in 2027 and 2% in 2028 as the pharma boost moderates.
