AMD and Microsoft have expanded Advanced Shader Delivery (ASD) support to all Radeon RDNA graphics cards, from the RX 5000 series to the latest RDNA 4 GPUs. ASD helps games load faster by downloading prebuilt shaders instead of making your PC compile them during startup. This can reduce long “Compiling Shaders” screens and help cut down on stuttering. In Microsoft’s tests, Forza Horizon 6 loaded in just 4 seconds with ASD enabled, compared to about 90 seconds without it. Actual improvements will vary depending on the game and system configuration. For now, ASD only works in supported games and is mainly available through the Xbox app and Microsoft Store.

We'll be spending a lot more time trying to understand the outputs of language models. A few thoughts, tips & tricks: Writing. Something I've had success with: Ask your LLM to explain something in ASD-STE100, it's a controlled language specification originally developed for aerospace maintenance documentation. LLMs well-versed in this language and it comes with heavy constraints on clean writing style that I often find a lot more readable. Sometimes I've tried to soften it a bit e.g. ask for "80% of the way to ASD-STE100" because the spec is quite stringent. But even better: Diagrams / images. Instead of writing, ask your LLM to create a diagram. These can be a lot easier to process, parse, and understand. But even better: Web pages. Ask for output "in HTML" to get a beautiful, interactive webpage. LLMs are getting really good at frontend and can create beautiful experiences, animations, etc. But even better: Explainer videos. The output format I am most bullish on is fully custom / bespoke explainer videos generated on any arbitrary topic. Experiment with things like "Create a 3b1b style video explainer on X. Use my ElevenLabs API key for audio narration". (you'd need an API key for the latter or you can ask your LLM to find you decent free alternatives that use your local compute). This is actually starting to work! In summary: - As LLMs get better, they will do more and more of the legwork autonomously, and a lot more of our work will rise up the abstractions into oversight and understanding. - Luckily, LLMs can help here too because as intelligence and code are increasingly abundant, you can ask for large, custom, discardable software artifacts (e.g. web apps, video explainers) that would have never made sense to create before. Push the boundaries here and you'll be surprised.

🇯🇵🇺🇸🇦🇺🇩🇪 On Sep 18, Japan’s NPA and National Cybersecurity Office, the U.S. FBI and DC3, Australia’s ASD/ACSC, and Germany’s BND and BfV jointly released a report on North Korea-linked #WaterPlum#, also known as “Contagious Interview” . SlowMist analyzed the report, examining the links between fake-job phishing, malware attacks, and “Laptop Farm” operations. 📄 Official report: 🔎 What the report reveals • Dec 2025–Jul 2026: 30,000+ computers infected across 100+ countries and regions • Data from 7,000+ crypto wallets stolen; at least JPY 1.7B (~USD 10.71M) flowed into wallets controlled by WaterPlum • Fake technical interviews can be used to deliver malware, steal credentials and wallet data, and enable further intrusion into corporate networks • Japan disclosed its first Laptop Farm seizure and dismantling 👤 For individuals / freelancers Don’t run unfamiliar interview code on machines holding wallets or sensitive work data. If an alert fires, disconnect from the internet first. 🏢 For hiring / outsourcing teams Treat unusually broad résumés, crypto-only payment requests, and refusal to work on-site as security signals worth investigating. 📖 Full analysis:

🚨 WOW! President Trump is RUSHING to the defense of the unvaccinated Amish, saying in 330 years, not one published case has documented an unvaccinated Amish child with autism Democrats want to force them into getting vaccinated. LEAVE THE AMISH ALONE. - 1,899 Amish children screened - 7 ASD cases confirmed - Vaccine histories were collected - The abstract did NOT report any confirmed cases as completely unvaccinated Autism HAS been documented in Amish children, but there is an outright absence of a published case documenting BOTH autism and ZERO vaccinations, the graphic says Let them decide. Microsoft's Advanced Shader Delivery technology has now arrived on AMD RDNA 3 GPUs. In testing with a Radeon RX 7600, Forza Horizon 6 now loads in just 4 seconds instead of the previous 90 seconds. The feature precompiles shaders during game downloads and installation, bypassing the need for in-game shader compilation. This cuts load times by up to 95% and virtually eliminates shader stutter for much smoother gameplay in supported titles. Co-developed with AMD, ASD is enabled through the latest Adrenalin 26.5.2 drivers for RDNA 3, RDNA 3.5, and RDNA 4 GPUs. It requires Windows 11 24H2 and updated Xbox services.

Trump, Xi expected to talk Taiwan, AI, trade and Iran as D.C. summit kicks off
A Virginia man accidentally left his phone recording while undergoing anesthesia for a colonoscopy. The audio captured medical staff insulting him, telling an assistant to lie to him, and discussing adding a false hemorrhoid diagnosis to his medical records. In 2015, a jury awarded him $500,000 in damages. The patient, referred to in court documents as “D.B.,” underwent a colonoscopy in Reston, Virginia, in April 2013. Before receiving anesthesia, he activated his phone’s audio recorder to capture the post-procedure instructions. The device remained in his clothing beneath the operating table, unintentionally recording everything that happened during the procedure. While listening to the recording on his way home, he discovered that anesthesiologist Dr. Tiffany Ingham had repeatedly mocked him while he was unconscious. She ridiculed his fear of needles, made insulting remarks about a rash he had mentioned, and said she had wanted to punch him following their conversation before the procedure. The audio also revealed medical staff discussing ways to avoid interacting with him afterward. An assistant was told to falsely claim that the doctor had already spoken to him and that he simply couldn’t remember. Ingham was also heard discussing adding hemorrhoids to his medical records, despite no evidence of the condition being found. The patient subsequently filed a lawsuit alleging defamation and medical malpractice. Following a three-day trial, a Fairfax County jury awarded him $500,000: $100,000 for defamation, $200,000 for medical malpractice, and $200,000 in punitive damages. One juror later remarked that the defense had little room to dispute the allegations because the entire conversation had been captured on the recording.

Proof: [Lemma] sum(i=1..x) [degree n-1 polynomial] = [degree n polynomial] Proof of lemma: * Notice that x^n - (x-1)^n = x^n - x^n + nx^(n-1) - ... +- 1 = [degree n-1 polynomial, call it C(x)] * Hence by telescoping sums, sum(i=1..x) C(i) = x^n * Given any specific degree n-1 polynomial D(x), re-express it as D(x) = some k * C(x) + [deg <= n-2 stuff]. By induction on n, and by linearity, sum(1..x)D(i) = k * x^n + [deg <= n-1 stuff]. Therefore, sum(i=1...x) i^3 is degree 4, and (sum(i=1...x) i)^2 is degree 2*2 = 4. Now, explicitly evaluate (sum(i=1...x) i)^2 and sum(i=1...x) i^3 on x=1...5, answers are: 1, 9, 36, 100, 225 in both cases The two deg-4 polynomials are the same on five points, therefore they are equal Therefore sqrt(sum(i=1...x) i^3) = sum(i=1...x)
