$LRCX delivered strong growth, but the upside versus consensus was much smaller than the growth rate suggests. September-quarter revenue reached $8.219B, up 22% sequentially, versus roughly $8.14B expected. Non-GAAP EPS was $2.20 versus $2.17 consensus, according to EarningsWhispers. That’s a small consensus beat. It was below the separate $2.28 whisper estimate, which is not the same thing as Wall Street consensus. December guidance calls for $8.6B revenue, plus or minus $400M, versus about $8.5B consensus cited by EarningsWhispers. The midpoint implies another 4.6% of sequential growth, not a contraction. Profitability remains strong: non-GAAP gross margin was 52.4% and operating margin 40.2%. December guidance midpoints are 52.5% and 40.5%, respectively. CEO Tim Archer says: “Our strategic investments in technology inflections and manufacturing capacity are paying off”. My read: this is strong business performance without a huge upside reset to expectations. That can help explain why a beat doesn’t automatically produce a positive stock reaction, but it doesn’t prove the cause of the selloff. Management’s call still matters.

i'm approaching altcoins differently this cycle than i did in previous ones we've seen assets like HYPE and ZEC perform independently of BTC and ETH, even during periods when the broader market was struggling i think crypto is gradually moving toward a market where individual fundamentals, capital inflows and actual business performance matter more that makes identifying mispriced assets and understanding which teams are building increasingly important, rather than relying entirely on the direction of the majors

The Market Is Sending a Message: This Is Where Discipline Matters Most. We are entering a challenging phase of the market, and investors need to pay closer attention to where they put their money. Earnings disappointments, AI capital expenditure concerns, cybersecurity fears, elevated energy prices, bond yields and weakness across technology and high-growth stocks are creating an increasingly difficult investment environment. But there is something important investors should understand: The weakness beneath the surface is much greater than what the major indexes suggest. While the S&P 500 and Nasdaq may appear relatively resilient, many individual stocks are already down 20%, 30% or even more. Market-cap-weighted indexes can hide significant damage happening across individual sectors and portfolios. The AI investment story is also entering a new phase. For years, investors rewarded companies simply for being connected to AI. Today, the questions are changing: • How much are companies spending on AI infrastructure? • Are those investments generating meaningful returns? • Can revenue growth translate into sustainable free cash flow? • Are balance sheets strong enough to support continued expansion? • Are valuations justified by actual business performance? The market is moving from rewarding AI promises to demanding financial results. I remain constructive on the long-term opportunities across AI infrastructure, semiconductors, cloud computing, power, robotics and space. However, not every company will emerge as a winner, and not every price decline represents a buying opportunity. This is where investors need to separate business fundamentals from market sentiment. A great company does not automatically make a great investment at every price. How am I approaching this market? - Preserving capital rather than chasing momentum. - Keeping cash available for better opportunities. - Avoiding blind averaging down. - Being selective with high-beta and speculative stocks. - Looking for confirmation rather than trying to predict market bottoms. - Reassessing positions when the original investment thesis changes. - Prioritizing risk/reward, valuation and balance-sheet strength. A watchlist is not a buy list. Patience is also a position. I believe the next major bull market will create tremendous opportunities, but our responsibility today is to make sure we have the capital, discipline and conviction to participate when conditions improve. Remember: The objective is not to catch the exact bottom. It is to accumulate quality businesses at sensible valuations, manage downside risk and allow time and compounding to work in our favour. Don’t confuse a market correction with the end of an investment opportunity. But don’t confuse conviction with stubbornness either. There will be another bull market. Let’s make sure we are prepared for it. Stay patient. Stay disciplined. Protect your capital. Not financial advice. Always do your own research.

[Exclusive] Samsung Clears 70% Yield on HBM4E… All Out Push for HBM Supremacy Samsung Electronics, following the world's first mass production of sixth generation high bandwidth memory (HBM4), is now producing visible results in the development of HBM4E (seventh generation) and next generation DRAM as well. Song Jai Hyuk, Samsung Electronics' Chief Technology Officer and head of the Semiconductor Research Center, recently said at an internal management briefing that the reliability test yield (good product ratio) for HBM4E has risen to a level above 70 percent, and that the next generation 10 nanometer class seventh generation (D1d) DRAM process has secured an advantage over competitors. On this basis, Samsung Electronics is expected to further accelerate efforts to strengthen its next generation AI memory competitiveness. According to the semiconductor industry on the 1st, Song is reported to have said at the Device Solutions (DS) division internal management briefing held on June 30 that "the reliability test yield for HBM4E has risen to a level above 70 percent." The industry generally regards a yield of 80 percent or higher as the "mature yield" stage, at which a process is considered stabilized. Given that HBM4E is still at the reliability test stage, the level above 70 percent is seen as an indicator that development is entering a stable range. Samsung Electronics was the first in the industry to begin mass production shipments of HBM4 in February this year, and on May 29 it disclosed the detailed technical specifications of its 12 layer HBM4E product and shipped samples to major customers. HBM4 will be mounted on Nvidia's AI accelerator "Vera Rubin," set to launch in the second half of the year, and HBM4E, the successor to HBM4, is scheduled to be installed in next generation AI accelerators such as "Vera Rubin Ultra," which Nvidia plans to launch next year. The industry sees development for mass production progressing smoothly as sample evaluation by major customers moves forward. Next generation DRAM process development is also said to be proceeding well. Song assessed that D1d process technology competitiveness is ahead of competitors, and explained that development is underway with a target of Production Readiness Approval (PRA) in November. PRA is the final internal quality evaluation stage carried out ahead of product shipment. It is a procedure that comprehensively verifies yield, performance, and productivity to determine whether mass production is feasible, and passing it enables a full transition to a mass production system. In particular, D1d is the core DRAM process that Samsung Electronics plans to apply starting from the next generation HBM5 (eighth generation). The industry expects that if D1d development proceeds as planned, it will have a positive effect not only on next generation DRAM but also on the competitiveness of HBM5 and subsequent products. With HBM4E development results and D1d process stabilization coming together in this way, the view is that Samsung Electronics' technological competitiveness in the next generation AI memory race will be further strengthened. Meanwhile, following the briefing, complaints about the role and compensation structure of research and development personnel have also surfaced within the R&D organization. Members are said to have voiced the view that the contribution of the R&D organization needs to be recognized more actively. Earlier, Samsung Electronics' labor and management agreed to establish a "special management performance bonus" for the DS division, funded by 10.5 percent of business performance (operating profit). However, even within the same DS division, the bonus gap between the memory business and the common divisions including the research center, as well as the non memory (System LSI and Foundry) business units, is large, and calls for improvements to the compensation structure are growing louder.
