Cosmos USDC is moving to Injective, and the first Noble deadline lands next week @circle stopped minting new USDC on Noble, the chain that issued the stablecoin for Cosmos. Starting October 31, Circle will begin reducing how much USDC can leave Noble through its older transfer system. The Noble USDC contract will be fully paused on January 12, 2027. Cosmos Hub, dYdX and the Skip:Go routing app have switched to the USDC version on @injective, the chain behind $INJ, as the new Cosmos standard. Holders can swap old Noble $USDC for the Injective version through Skip:Go, which opened migration on September 11.

Cosmos Institute founder @Brendan_McCord warns that giving regulators the power to slow down frontier AI could create an authority with virtually no limits: "Developing tools to pace the frontier is assigning power to pace the frontier. And if you assign power in a free society, you also have to demarcate it. You have to place limits on it." "Something as ill-defined as pacing, today it's compute, tomorrow it's algorithms, maybe the way a research organization is set up, is going to force any would-be pacer to dynamically redefine its jurisdiction. No one who advocates for pacing can really tell me what power the pacer would not have." "If you were gonna pace the whole frontier, you need a way to deal with defectors, which means you need an ability to coerce actors who don't wanna stop. That's what needs to be defined if we're gonna have this be a liberal institution." @cosmos_inst

Cosmos migration of legacy USDC versions slated for September, Injective says @injective said today that it is working with @circle and teams across the @cosmos ecosystem to move legacy $USDC versions, including Noble-issued and bridged variants, onto the native issuance Circle launched on Injective in May. Cosmos Hub adopted that issuance as its reference USDC in May under a four-year minimum commitment.

Cosmos Labs is recommending that every public chain running Cosmos EVM below v0.6.2 halt immediately and patch. Three chains --MANTRA, TAC and KiiChain-- were already drained. Two are still frozen. The patch shipped Aug 19 with no security advisory attached. $ATOM is unaffected because Cosmos Hub does not run the EVM module. Read more here:
