Seventh Circuit judges John Z. Lee, Joshua P. Kolar, and Diane P. Wood ruled that federal law doesn’t outlaw possession of AI-generated child sexual abuse material depicting no real children. The case involved Wisconsin man Steven Anderegg, who had saved hundreds of AI-generated images depicting children to his electronic devices, after a district court dismissed the possession charge against him.
