ALERT: Elevator plummets 50 feet and breaks 4 men's legs as it crashed into the ground. A building in Makhachkala, Dagestan, suffered from a failed elevator after 9 men got onto an elevator meant to hold only 6. Officials say the elevator fell from the 4th floor to the ground, and the men can be seen being tossed into each other and collapsing onto the ground. The building never received a commissioning certificate from housing officials, which has led the Dagestan Housing Authority to question the safety and legality of the elevator. Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into the failure to meet safety requirements.
