ALERT: School psychologist who primarily worked with special-needs kids was sentenced after Instagram notified police that he had uploaded child p*rnography. Dr. Robert Lee Turner, 64, was a Miami-Dade County Public Schools psychologist for special-needs children who “tend to be the most vulnerable.” Instagram notified the police, and after investigators checked Turner's phone, they found multiple videos involving children from 8 to 16 years old. Turner's defense attorneys argued that his accounts had been hacked and that he should receive leniency because he has had “65 years of good behavior.” Judge Cristina Miranda sentenced Turner to 30 years in prison and 5 years of probation as a registered s*x offender.

Police K9 Ryder suffered burn injuries to his face but was released from the vet several hours after the incident and is expected to make a full recovery.

ALERT: Teen held on $1 million bail after allegedly shooting fireworks out of the back of a pickup truck and starting the deadly fire in Washington. 18-year-old Michael Yakimov was recorded shooting Roman candles out of the bed of a pickup truck on the freeway and even aiming at a car driving next to him. The sparks allegedly started the Chelan Hills Fire, which led to the death of a 69-year-old Robert Lister, injured 6 firefighters, burned nearly 10,000 acres, and caused over $6,000,000 in damages. Yakimov’s family does not believe he started the fires and says they want the other people allegedly involved held accountable as well. Yakimov has been charged with manslaughter and arson and is expected to be arraigned Thursday.

ALERT: Potential most prolific serial killer in Brazil's history found by police disguised as a woman wearing a dress and holding a seemingly random 2-year-old. Police found Jorlan Alves da Silva, 33, in a striped dress and a loosely fitting black wig in northeastern Brazil. Silva is a suspected hitman and serial killer for an organized crime group who has carried out at least 15 murders in the past 3 months. Silva admitted to killing 80 people during his lifetime, with the first one occurring when he was just 13 years old. If confirmed, Silva would be the most prolific serial killer in Brazilian history, topping Pedro Rodrigues Filho, known as "Brazilian Dexter," who had 71 confirmed murders.

ALERT: Karen McGee was awarded almost $100,000 for an incident in an Austin airport that caused her to break her wrist, spend 2 nights in jail, and miss her flight. McGee, 71, was traveling from Florida to Seattle and had a layover at Austin Bergstrom International Airport in September 2022. McGee, who is hard of hearing, sat in front of her next gate and took out her hearing aids to block out some of the extra noise they pick up. After some time passed and no one began boarding at that gate, McGee realized she had missed an announcement that her gate had changed and her flight left without her. McGee switched from a Delta flight to an Alaska flight that didn't get in until 9 pm and approached the help desk to board an earlier flight. One gate agent was “dismissive,” and McGee tried to speak to another agent, who stated that McGee started yelling at her and that her breath reeked of alcohol. Austin Police Department stated McGee “chugged” wine and proceeded to arrest her, breaking her wrist in the process. McGee was held in the Travis County jail for 2 nights and was released after a judge reviewed the case and decided she should no longer be detained. McGee sued the city and won $92,500.
