Their service is remembered. Their sacrifice is never forgotten. Earlier today, CAL FIRE joined firefighters, families, and honor guards from across the country in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for the IAFF Fallen Firefighter Memorial Ceremony. Each September, the fire service comes together to remember firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. As part of the gathering, the names of fallen firefighters are added to the Memorial Wall, creating a permanent tribute to their service and sacrifice.
