Land of the free because of the brave. For 250 years, the American military has stood as the greatest fighting force in the world. We owe our freedom to the men and women in uniform who have sacrificed their blood, sweat, tears, and lives for this country. God bless our troops and God bless America.

Today, the nation honors the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces, recognizing their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to defending America. "As we celebrate 250 glorious years of American independence this year, we acknowledge that our precious freedom, enjoyed and embraced by generation after generation, has been secured for all citizens by the providence and grace of Almighty God and the service and sacrifice of every member of our military," a White House statement reads.

In January, I had the privilege of meeting these brave Iowans of the Operational Support Airlift Command on deployment in the Middle East. Today, we celebrate the successful completion of their mission and give thanks to God for their safe return!

This Memorial Day, take a moment to honor the brave Americans who have served our country and given their lives for our freedom. May God bless our fallen heroes, their families, and all who serve.
