Honestly I agree with
@Asmongold .
One thing that people don’t understand is that when one side is willing to use women and children to commit crimes, and you let them use this to lessen your response then you make it strategically valid.
In the immediate it’s bad and it feels awful, but by allowing the effectiveness of the tactic to stand you create much more dire consequences for a greater sum of people. Both for the children and women who will be used in the future and for the crime that will come to citizens. You also have to consider economic and cultural damage that will occur.
Basically you allow your morality (which they don’t even care about btw) to drive you to a result that creates exponentially higher levels of suffering and death.
This is the difference between knights and kings—the ability to make this decision while understanding fully the consequences at whole and not just in a single moment.
