I first joined Twitter in 2018 and back then I recall Irish people's concerns about mass immigration were mostly from the perspective of looking at other EU countries and saying how bad it was. Today, those countries are now saying the same about Ireland. It only took 8 years.

Scottish rugby legend Scott Hastings has died aged 61. Hastings won 65 caps for Scotland over 11 years, a record at that time, represented the British and Irish Lions on 12 occasions on two tours, and played 13 games for the Barbarians.

🇫🇷 France has quarantined the cruise ship Ambition after a 90-year-old passenger died, with norovirus suspected. Around 50 others on board are showing vomiting and diarrhea symptoms. The British-operated vessel, carrying over 1,700 passengers and crew (mostly British and Irish), arrived from the Shetland Islands and was heading to Spain. This is the second major cruise ship outbreak in recent weeks, following the deadly hantavirus incident on MV Hondius in April 2026.
