#WATCH# | Amritsar, Punjab: J&K CM Omar Abdullah says, "...We were told that statehood would be restored to Jammu & Kashmir after the elections, but nothing was put in writing; assurances were given verbally—even in Parliament and the Supreme Court. It was stated that three steps would follow: first delimitation, then elections, and finally, the restoration of statehood. We accepted the delimitation process, and we held elections in which a significant number of people participated. Yet, the restoration of statehood remains pending for us. That is why I advised my friends and colleagues in Ladakh—since they are currently in talks with the central government—not to rely on verbal assurances but to get it in writing... Additionally, on UPI MDR transaction charges, he says, "It won't apply to you or me; the businesses facilitating the transactions will have to bear it. Furthermore, the issued order explicitly states that this cost cannot be passed on to the customer. If you and I transfer money to each other, no tax will be levied on that either. As for transactions under Rs 2,000—which constitute the bulk of the business—there are no merchant charges; for amounts exceeding Rs 2,000, there is a set limit... If large factories and merchants were to pay for it instead, I don't think anyone should have an objection."

PAK-BASED LeT/TRF CHIEF HAFIZ SAEED NAMED BY NIA IN SUPPLEMENTARY CHARGESHEET IN PAHALGAM TERROR ATTACK The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed charges against Pakistan-based terrorist and LeT/TRF chief & founder Hafiz Saeed in the dastardly Pahalgam terror attack case.   In its supplementary chargesheet filed before the NIA Special Court, Jammu, the anti-terror agency has charged Hafiz Saeed in his individual capacity and also as the chief of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror outfit and its active proxy organisation The Resistance Front (TRF).   The accused has been charged under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023 and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967. NIA has also invoked the penal section against the accused for waging war against India and hatching a conspiracy from across the border in the chargesheet.   The chargesheet, filed in continuation of the original 1,597-page chargesheet, provides details of Pakistan’s conspiracy, Hafeez Saeed’s role, and supporting evidence collected by NIA in the case through meticulous scientific investigation and on-ground examination.   In its earlier chargesheet filed on 15th December 2025, NIA had chargesheeted Pakistani handler terrorist Sajid Jatt as an accused, along with three terrorists killed by security forces during Operation Mahadev in July 2025, as well as two arrested accused. It had also charged the proscribed LeT/TRF terrorist organisation as a legal entity for its role in planning, facilitating, and executing the Pahalgam terror attack.   The deadly attack in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir on 22nd April, 2025 involved religion-based targeted killings by the Pak-sponsored terrorists. Twenty-five innocent tourists and one local civilian were killed in the attack. An FIR (no. 25/2025) was initially registered by Police Station Pahalgam, district Anantnag. After initial investigation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the case was transferred to NIA by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.   NIA continues to probe the case RC-02/2025/NIA/JMU to unravel the complete conspiracy by Pakistan, which has been actively sponsoring terrorism on Indian soil from across the border : NIA

An Indian Startup Wants to Build a Defence Dome Across Our Skies! In 2019, Kiran Raju Penumacha watched a drone attack on Saudi Arabia's Aramco oil facilities expose a frightening weakness in modern defence. Drones costing a fraction of traditional military equipment had helped disrupt one of the world's largest oil producers. For Kiran, who had spent years researching autonomous systems, the attack raised an uncomfortable question: Could India's critical infrastructure withstand something similar? His concerns deepened as drones began appearing along the Punjab border, carrying weapons and narcotics. Then, in 2021, drones struck the Jammu Air Force Station. The threat was getting closer to home. Kiran had studied at Carnegie Mellon University and spent years working on autonomous technologies. Drawing on that experience, he began building Indrajaal, a Hyderabad-based startup with an ambitious vision: an intelligent defence network capable of protecting entire regions. Its proposed coverage? Up to 4,000 square kilometres. At the centre sits SkyOS, an AI platform connecting radars, cameras and radio-frequency sensors to detect and assess suspicious drones. Depending on the threat, the system can deploy electronic jamming, interfere with navigation, attempt cyber takeover of compatible drones or activate physical interceptors. During Operation Sindoor in May 2025, Indrajaal reported deploying its technology at a strategic naval installation in western India. The company's ambitions have since translated into substantial government orders. In August 2026, Indrajaal and Sigma Advanced Systems announced approximately ₹155 crore in orders for Ranger, their mobile counter-drone vehicle, including ₹145 crore for border security and ₹10 crore for urban policing. Ranger can patrol while monitoring the skies, an important capability when hostile drones can cross borders at unpredictable locations. For India, with its extensive borders, coastlines, refineries and military installations, affordable counter-drone protection is becoming increasingly important. Kiran's journey began with a vulnerability exposed thousands of kilometres away. Today, his company is developing technology intended to prevent similar attacks on Indian soil. And that leaves us with a difficult question. As AI takes on greater responsibility for national defence, how much decision-making authority should we give to these machines?
