Former Michigan State forward Jaxon Kohler, who was cleared to play after a judge granted an injunction for Class of 2022 athletes seeking a fifth year, has committed to play for BYU. Kohler signed an Exhibit 10 contract and played for the Utah Jazz in summer league.

People who believe they can get better with effort react more strongly in the brain the moment they make a mistake, and they get more answers right on the next try. A Michigan State University study recorded this with caps that pick up brain waves. Jason Moser's team asked students what they believed about intelligence. Some believed ability grows with effort, which psychologists call a growth mindset, while others believed you're either smart or you're not. Then the students did a fast task designed to trip them up, while the researchers recorded their brain waves. The study appeared in Psychological Science in 2011. Right after a mistake, the brain gives off a burst of activity that shows it noticed the error and is paying attention to it. Students with a growth mindset had a bigger burst, and they were more accurate on the very next try. That burst explained why growth-minded students bounced back: their brains paid closer attention to the mistake. Swapping "I'm bad at this" for "this is new for me" fits right here, since the second phrase treats a mistake as something worth learning from. School programs that teach growth mindset have had only small effects on grades overall, according to a 2018 review. After a mistake in this study, though, the students who paid closer attention to it made fewer errors next time.

These schools are the first U.S. sports teams to launch Fan Tokens, with Socios planning to scale to 30 athletic departments over 12 months.

Ryan Dookhan, a U.S. citizen who was working as a elementary school security guard in New York, sexually exploited an 11-year-old girl he met on Roblox. He coerced her into engaging in sexually explicit conduct using a discreet messaging app so he could produce photos and videos of her. ICE HSI Sault Ste. Marie and the Michigan State Police investigated the case, which led to Dookhan’s conviction and a 30-year prison sentence.
