VTuber and cosplayer Hatsuka Neru says she has been dealing with serious real-life harassment, including being watched, followed, photographed, and recorded without her permission. According to her statement, the situation is affecting her mental well-being and making her fear for her safety. Neru asked people to remember there is a real person behind the avatar. While fans know her as a VTuber character online, she is a human being who deserves privacy and respect in everyday life. Her agency is stepping up security measures and is prepared to take legal action against anyone involved in stalking, harassment, or other invasive behavior.
