Neuralink is now testing something that could completely change life for people with paralysis: Controlling a powered wheelchair using only their thoughts The implant uses more than 1,000 electrodes across over 100 ultra-thin threads placed in the motor cortex These electrodes detect the neural activity produced when a participant intends to move A machine-learning system then translates those signals into cursor movements, allowing the participant to drive forward, reverse, steer and even adjust the wheelchair’s seating position.....without moving their hands Participants can also use a live video feed from a wheelchair-mounted camera to navigate real-world environments There is still more testing ahead, and the device remains investigational, but the direction is extraordinary Neuralink is not just simply helping people control a computer It is working toward restoring independence, mobility and freedom to people who lost them

Neuralink is planning its first Blindsight implant later this year, aiming to restore limited vision even for people who have lost both eyes, their optic nerve, or were born blind Over time, it could potentially go beyond that and offer enhanced or even superhuman vision

Neuralink’s surgical robot can now reach any brain region with extreme precision - inserting ultra-fine threads while dodging blood vessels and adapting in real time to brain movement “A generalized neural interface to help solve any condition that originates in the brain” As of May 2026: • 21 patients already implanted • High-volume automated production ramping up this year • Surgeries faster & less invasive (threads now go straight through the dura) Trials have expanded to Canada, UK, and UAE New studies underway: • Speech restoration (voice study) • Blindsight - a visual prosthesis to restore sight in blind people This is no longer just about paralysis. It’s heading toward restoring vision, speech, and eventually treating any brain-origin condition The future of brain-computer interfaces is arriving faster than most people realize

Need @neuralink to fix my auditory processing because I’m tired of saying "huh" every time when I heard and understood the question perfectly fine
@XFreeze Neuralink is a much bigger breakthrough than most people realize. Enabling people to control a computer with their mind and the completely blind to see are Jesus-level miracles.
