We’re completing our initial commitment to the People-First AI Fund with $9.5M in grants to organizations like @Dollarfor_ and @caremessage using AI to drive impact in areas rooted in people-first values. The OpenAI Foundation is re-opening applications to the People-First AI Fund on June 15 – with a new $50 million commitment and updated focus areas. We will share more then.

Today, the OpenAI Foundation is committing $50M to the 2026 People-First AI Fund to fund trusted, community-based nonprofits exploring how AI can expand access and opportunity across essential services, arts and culture, and media and journalism.
