Stratford is one of Europe’s great regeneration success stories. It’s ready for its next chapter - European rail links. I’m proud to say I’m working with the government to deliver new cross-Channel trains from East London. The benefits would be felt far beyond our city.

Suno released v6 with localized section and lyric editing without full-song regeneration. Making generation addressable turns media into a repairable workspace. Agents no longer have to rerun the entire pipeline to correct a flaw; they can patch the failure directly.

The FDA Voted to Allow Compounding of Peptides. Topical. Oral. Safe Track Record. Far Better Than mRNA or DNA Genetic Technologies. Peptides used topically — in cosmetics, in skin regeneration, in oral buccal applications — have a strong and well-documented safety profile. The FDA panel's vote to allow compounding opens new avenues of treatment that don't carry the risks of synthetic mRNA or DNA plasmid technologies. Oral and topical peptide administration currently falls under FTC jurisdiction — and that's where it should stay. This is medicine moving in the right direction: effective, accessible, and not built on untested genetic platforms. Kyocera announced that it will construct a new smelting facility to recycle tungsten, a rare metal used as a raw material for cemented carbide tools, from used tools. The facility is scheduled to begin operations in fiscal year 2030. This is in response to the tight supply and demand for tungsten caused by China's export restrictions. Kyocera will install new smelting equipment at its factory in Satsumasendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture. The project will be funded by a grant of approximately 3 billion yen from the METI. The new equipment will recycle tungsten carbide from used cemented carbide tools. This will be Kyocera's first Tungsten recycling plant. Kyocera is using its unique recycling technology, the "amino acid shortening method," which utilizes naturally derived amino acids, to improve the efficiency of regeneration. In February 2013, China imposed export restrictions on five types of rare metals, including tungsten. Imports of three related items subject to the export restrictions, including the raw material "tungstate," in August 2014 fell by 90% compared to August 2012, before the restrictions were put in place. In response to procurement difficulties, Mitsubishi Materials has begun full-scale imports of tungsten, including recycled tungsten made from scrap cemented carbide tools, from Vietnam. It is also investing approximately 17 billion yen in its European and Japanese factories to increase its tungsten recycling capacity. Sumitomo Electric Industries is also strengthening its recycling system, including building a new factory to produce tungsten powder at a cost of approximately 15.9 billion yen.

// Design Docs Are All You Need // Banger paper from Google DeepMind, MIT, and colleagues. What a genuinely strange and interesting paper this one is. Here is the setup: They maintain a performance-modeling library whose main branch contains almost no code. The repository is a directed graph of natural-language design docs. Coding sub-agents regenerate the entire implementation from those docs whenever a version updates. Every human change is an edit to a doc. The premise is that ML performance modeling invalidates its own abstractions every hardware and model generation, and coding agents are now cheap enough that regenerating a library beats patching one. Two things make the regeneration reliable. The design docs are written around step-by-step worked examples, which act as in-context demonstrations for the generating agents. The system is also anchored on a minimal recursively defined operator IR with symbolic cost expressions in SymPy. Regenerated implementations reproduce hand-audited reference models to round-off precision, including DeepSeek-V3 serving on a TPU pod slice. Paper:
