Shahadat Hossain, a 43-year-old Bangladeshi national with prior convictions for s*xual violence back home, had been stalking the mother and harassing the family in Rome. He then carried out a savage axe attack that ended the lives of the father, mother, and their young daughter. Their teenage son was severely beaten but survived and remains in critical condition. Hossain is now on the run in Italy. Reports indicate he had joined a Bengali Islamic Nationalist party while living there.
