He could not spell Khamyah’s name and first called her Maya. ⠀ A forensic analyst said the fractures and head trauma were too severe for a small child to inflict. Prosecutors say Beatty was bitter that the mother got pregnant with the twins by another man during their relationship. ⠀ He had told her, “If you leave them b*tches here, them b*tches are going to be de*d.” She later told police, “Mighty funny that you made that comment and I come back from the grocery store and my daughter de*d.” ⠀ Sixteen days earlier Khamyah had fallen about 75 feet down an escalator at Congress Heights Metro after slipping from a car seat. Colfax told him she would bring him back to court often. Finley says he never saw a light and never heard a siren. ⠀ The Tesla tape showed the emergency lights for only a brief moment. Curves and buildings then hid that car. ⠀ On the officer’s radio you can hear, “HE’S TRYING TO TAKE OFF ON ME.” Finley drove the rest of the way home at ordinary speed and rolled into his garage. ⠀ He heard sirens, opened the door, and found g*ns in his face. Neighbors were already watching. ⠀ "This is, argumentatively, a simple traffic violation. And now I have a gun in my face and I'm arrested in my driveway and my neighbors are watching." ⠀ He told them he never saw them and was not running. A black woman in York, Pennsylvania, said she was “personally offended” that officials called violent porch attackers "uncivilized". ⠀ The Fox 43 meeting covered the Sept. 12 beating on the 300 block of West Jackson Street. York College of Pennsylvania students were on their rental porch when a street-race crowd moved onto the grass. ⠀ A victim told Fox 43 they asked the crowd off the property after a racer smashed a parked car by the firehouse. “After the first punch was given, all these girls started to rush us.” ⠀ “I turn and see my friend get dragged by her hair down our porch steps and disappear. My other friend got dragged by her hair.” Another student said she was dragged to a stop sign and kicked by a pack while she tried to hold her top up. ⠀ She blacked out when she was kicked in the ribs and again when she was hit in the head. “I was encircled by probably 30 people by myself getting video recorded while getting punched and kicked from every angle.” ⠀ Video showed a blonde student ripped off the porch. Many of the attackers on tape are black. Three juvenile girls have been charged. Officials said the injuries met the legal definition of bodily injury and were not life-threatening. ⠀ Students said they called 911 five times and that police arrived after the beating. York College said the people who started the fight were not students and offered the women beds on campus. ⠀ At the meeting the woman said, "To me, that feels like you're saying that the juveniles in this incident are uncivilized, and I am personally offended by that analogy." ⠀ She asked what the college would do to check the behavior of the white students living off campus. Washington prison staff put Shane Goldsby in a cell with the man serving 43 years for r*ping Goldsby’s sister. It went about as well as you'd expect. ⠀ Goldsby was 26 and from Longview. He arrived at Airway Heights Corrections Center near Spokane about 10:30 a.m. on June 2, 2020. ⠀ His cellmate was Robert Munger, 70, of Kelso. In December 2019 a Cowlitz County judge had given Munger at least 43 years for child r*pe and child mol*station. ⠀ Munger also had a child-p*rnography conviction. One of his victims was Goldsby’s younger sister, still a minor. ⠀ Goldsby was already doing about seven years for a 2017 second-degree as$ault with a de*dly weapon. That case included stealing a Kelso police car and hurting a state trooper in a chase. ⠀ Hours after they met, surveillance caught Goldsby coming up behind Munger in a common area. Washington State Patrol said he punched Munger’s head about 14 times. ⠀ He stomped the head at least four times and kicked it again before guards pulled him off. Munger d*ed three days later in a hospital of a skull fracture. ⠀ Goldsby told KHQ that Munger kept describing the photos and videos. “He r*ped my little sis.” ⠀ He also told a reporter, “What the f*ck? You’re talking the same institution, the same unit, the same pod in the same cell as this dude.” ⠀ WSP wrote there was no evidence screening staff should have known about the family link. Existing protocol should have blocked that pairing if the link had been flagged. ⠀ Prosecutors first charged first-degree m*rder. Goldsby later pled guilty to second-degree m*rder without premeditation. ⠀ In August 2021 a judge added about 24 years, three years of supervision, and restitution to Munger’s family.
