TL;DR: The mutation-generated faults and curated benchmarks long used to evaluate quantum software testing tools may be missing 86.3% of the bugs that actually show up in real quantum projects. Title: Are We Testing the Wrong Quantum Bugs? A Study of Fault Representation Gaps in Quantum Software Testing URL: Key points 🔍 Collected 410 verified real-world bugs from 10 repositories (Qiskit, PennyLane, Cirq, and more), classified into 56 bug families 🧬 Mutation-testing tools only cover 20 of those families 📚 Curated benchmarks add just 15 more families 📉 Only 13.7% of real bugs fall into families represented by either source 🧩 The big missing categories: compiler transformation errors (66 bugs), type-handling errors (53), missing input validation (47) ⚙️ Most of these faults live in compilers, intermediate representations, and framework interactions, not in the circuits themselves, so circuit mutation alone can't reproduce them The reminder that a correct circuit says nothing about a correct compilation feels like a lesson that reaches well beyond quantum software testing. #QuantumComputing# #SoftwareTesting#

Agentic AI isn't deterministic, which means traditional software testing doesn't cut it. At the NYSE, CoreWeave’s @shawnup joined @SiliconANGLE's @theCUBE to discuss how developers are building for the agentic era and why @weave_wb is essential for tracking, evaluating, and improving non-deterministic systems. Watch the breakdown below ⬇️

Jason Calacanis: OpenAI's “Sentient AI” Hype Is Really an IPO Sales Pitch @Jason: “They're basically hijacking the media with this performative framing of the AI being sentient. And if you just call this software and software testing, and use the classic language like bugs, audit log, then it would never have made its way into the media. And when the media gets their hooks into this, having been a journalist and having watched journalism move from being a truth-seeking function in society, and then become an entertainment vehicle in society where any chance you get to increase your ratings, that's the problem. Because now what Dwarkesh has done, and I don't think Dwarkesh has bad intentions here, I think he wrote something because he wanted to get attention for his point of view, but you give that to the media, the media's like, ‘This is going to get us ratings. This is going to get us clicks. This is going to get us advertising.’ So they're more than willing to engage in this farcical act and this dance with Anthropic and OpenAI and then just publicize it. So all the free clicks, we call this earned media in the space, you didn't have to pay for it, now OpenAI got so much earned media before their IPO and Dwarkesh just absolutely put kerosene on that fire, and it made its way to the national press. That story has now gotten everywhere. It's priming the pump to buy the IPO shares. It's ridiculous.”
