The Financial Times reports that Russia has been secretly helping Iran develop supersonic cruise missile technology since 2023, in what could become one of Moscow’s most significant military technology transfers to Tehran. The program, known as C430L, involves Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport and NPO Mashinostroyenia, with Russian missile engineers traveling repeatedly to Iran and analyzing Iranian ramjet flight-test data. The technology could eventually enable Iran to field faster, low altitude anti ship and land attack cruise missiles that would be significantly harder for U.S. and allied defenses to intercept. Iran has already built and flight tested the ramjet propulsion system, but the FT found no evidence that a Russian assisted supersonic cruise missile has been deployed. The leaked correspondence indicates the program remained active into June 2026, including discussions about a next phase, although it is unclear whether that phase has begun. The development is particularly significant for U.S. naval forces in the Middle East: Iran has demonstrated an ability to threaten American bases with drones and ballistic missiles, but has so far been less successful against U.S. naval assets. A mature ramjet powered anti ship missile could give Tehran a substantially more capable weapon for targeting ships in the Gulf and surrounding waters. Source:

The HPV vaccine has reduced cervical cancer deaths to near zero in key age groups. A major study in England has shown that girls who received the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine at ages 12 to 13 now face an almost nonexistent risk of dying from cervical cancer before age 30. These results offer the strongest evidence to date that the vaccine does more than prevent infections and precancerous lesions, it is actively saving lives. Between 2020 and 2024, not a single cervical cancer death was recorded among women aged 20 to 24 in England. Scientists estimate that approximately 23 deaths would have occurred in this group without the national HPV vaccination program. The program began offering the vaccine to schoolgirls in 2008. Since then, researchers calculate it has already prevented around 200 cervical cancer deaths in England, with far greater numbers expected as vaccinated generations age. HPV is a very common virus transmitted through intimate skin-to-skin contact. While most infections resolve naturally, persistent cases can lead to cervical cancer. In fact, HPV is responsible for roughly 99 percent of all cervical cancer cases. Experts note that this sharp decline in deaths is only the start. As more vaccinated individuals reach the peak ages for cervical cancer, the impact is projected to increase significantly. Vaccination is not a complete solution on its own. Regular cervical screening continues to play a vital role, as the vaccine does not protect against every cancer-causing HPV strain. The World Health Organization aims to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem. These promising results suggest that goal is achievable if high vaccination coverage and screening programs are maintained. [Sasieni P, Falcaro M. Cervical cancer mortality trends following HPV vaccination in England, 2001–24: an analysis of population-based mortality data. The Lancet. Published online June 17, 2026. doi:10.1016/S0140-6736(26)00918-9]

The existing financial system neither reflects the culture nor addresses the economic realities of this upcoming generation of financial participants. Our team, composed of emerging market citizens and perma-online Gen Zers are here to build the financial operating system for the internet-native generation. We’ve spent the past two years building MegaEVM, the fastest execution environment in the industry. The MegaEVM withstood a 11B tx stress test in mainnet production, averaging 40k TPS, while consistently charging lower fees than all others competitors. Our technical milestones paved the way for a collaboration with @chainlink to begin building the first real-time oracle, providing unparalleled speed and security to the DeFi ecosystem. The past two years has seen a notable and eventful ecosystem grow through MegaETH. Today, some of the most interesting new applications sit on Mega. The points program on Terminal has allowed crypto-native users to further explore the initial Mega Ecosystem, but we believe it has run its course. We will be providing boosted USDm rewards to all eligible participants in the program. Moving forward, we will double down on sourcing and accelerating the best applications on MegaETH through personalized GTM, targeting users beyond crypto. We are momentarily launching the MOSS SDK, a self-custody wallet that unifies liquidity between applications while maintaining top in class security through smart approvals. These pieces lay the foundation for M(OS)S to become the financial OS built for users born to this generation. Live Q3, MEGA blends finance and entertainment with primitives and risk preferences that have never been available to everyday users. The MOSS SDK is uniquely positioned to solve the embedded wallet <> generalized wallet dilemma by giving best in class security guarantees to users across all apps while still maintaining one unified account. MOSS SDK builds on the foundational work of Porto by Ithaca, providing a user-first mentality to product. We look forward to working with applications to integrate Moss and provide users with a solution to the crypto UX problem. The legacy financial system merely adopted the internet, it was not born in it. M(OS)S is being built by people who understand the culture of internet-native users and how finance, entertainment, and identity are converging online.

The keel-laying ceremony for the first next-generation U212NFS destined for the Italian Navy was held today at our Muggiano shipyard, as part of the program for the construction of four submarines and the development of related logistic support, managed and entrusted to OCCAR. Delivery of the first U212NFS is scheduled for 2029. The U212NFS submarine class represents a substantial evolution compared to its U212A predecessors, thanks to greater design maturity, a higher level of national technological content, an improved integration of onboard systems and innovations developed by Italian industry — including the lithium-ion propulsion battery and the new combat system — that will ensure greater stealth, endurance, efficiency, and cyber resilience. We are proud to leverage our expertise in the U212NFS program, which makes a decisive contribution to preserving and enhancing national industrial know-how, consolidating the technological advantage of Fincantieri and the entire Italian supply chain, reaffirming our commitment to a more innovative future and safer seas. @ItalianNavy

Announcing the Fall 2026 cycle of @arena's Academic Partnerships Program. We're accepting new proposals from tenure-track faculty at U.S. universities working on the scientific foundations of AI evaluation: evaluation and ranking methodology, measurement and validity, learning from human preference, and safety and alignment. Funding of up to $50,000 per project is available, and we'll continue reviewing submissions twice a year, each Spring and Fall. Congratulations to our first Spring 2026 cohort of 7 selected research projects! Head to the thread to see who was selected, learn more about the program, and find out how to submit your own proposal for Fall.
