The Trump administration is suspending Microsoft from a program to apply for green cards for workers as it accuses the company of H-1B visa fraud. He alleged the company has laid off over 6,000 American workers while benefiting “from 6,300 H-1B visas and almost 3,000 green cards.” “The program has become rife with fraud over the last several years, probably the last several decades,” Vance said, adding, “There has been no company in the United States, unfortunately, that has abused this system more than Microsoft.”

THE BLOCK: The IMF approved a $138 million disbursement to El Salvador under its $1.4 billion Extended Fund Facility. Notably, it granted a waiver for the country's breach of the program's bitcoin accumulation limits.

The program, dubbed the Education Freedom Tax Credit, allows individual taxpayers to direct up to $1,700 of their annual federal tax bill to nonprofits that grant scholarships to students to pay for qualified educational expenses.

The critical distinction between base LLMs (2024 and earlier) and modern LRMs is not symbolic tool use. It's the switch from a transductive paradigm (intuit the answer to the query) to an inductive paradigm (intuit the program/instructions that produce the answer to the query). They're trained to be inductive, and they perform test-time induction, i.e. test-time prediction of a NL program / reasoning chain. This unlocks entirely new capabilities -- in particular fluid intelligence. Base LLMs, to this day, have ~0 fluid intelligence. LRMs have substantial levels of fluid intelligence. The performance of LLMs on ARC 1 (a benchmark from 2019) remains ~10-15% today. Scaling them up by a factor ~100,000x got them from 0% to 10%. Meanwhile LRMs the same size or smaller saturated ARC 1 in 2025.
