#WATCH# | Delhi: On Elon Musk's recent remarks regarding Starlink, US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) President and CEO Mukesh Aghi says, "...I think the tweet was very juvenile. You don't take a nation of 1.4 billion people and try to play it in a manner that it looks very petty. You have to understand what happened yesterday, where Starlink pulled off providing certain coverage to Ukraine, and that's the situation what India is trying to avoid in the future, that if you come in, then we will not be subject to your leverage of 'today you have coverage, tomorrow you don't have coverage.' So it's an issue of national security, and India takes that very seriously, so you got to respect that..." On JD Vance's comments on the H-1B visa, he adds, "In 2022, U.S. Labor Department said that the H-1B workers have contributed $2.1 trillion to the U.S. economy. And if you take roughly 30% going to taxation on that income, so you are talking about almost $600 billion going to the government exchequer in revenue itself. When you look at the tech startups, one out of four has some kind of an Indian element. When you look at the overall tech startups, you will see that almost four out of five have some foreign-born element to it also. So the immigrants play a very, very critical role in growing the U.S. economy, innovating the U.S. economy, and making the U.S. economy more competitive..."

#WATCH# | Delhi: On the India-U.S. strategic relationship, proposed trade agreement, US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) President and CEO Mukesh Aghi says, "The importance of a trade deal helps both countries to have a structured pathway to grow towards the objective they have of $500 billion. Without the trade deal, the trade between the two countries is still growing at 15 percent—we'll cross around $240 billion in revenue. India's position is that we want preferential treatment. That means give us lower tariffs than our competition and our neighbors. And the U.S. has principally agreed on that... The ball is in the U.S. court at the moment, trying to see what kind of tariffs they're going to put on Bangladesh, on Pakistan and others, because this way they can close India's trade deal." On US Secretary of State Marco Rubio visiting India, he adds, "I don't expect much on the trade side on his visit. As Secretary of State, he's going to focus more on the India-U.S. relationship, on the geopolitics of it, and most probably on the Quad side... They have enough on their plate to discuss those topics among themselves. But it's very encouraging for the State Secretary to come in April and now again to India—it shows his interest in India and the importance of India in this relationship..."
