Yeah, we're pro-cop all day long. But in this case... BEST case... some officers need some SERIOUS retraining. This is a MESS. A Florida judge acquitted Kevin Finley of the world's most ridiculous felony charge after Tesla cameras showed he never saw the unmarked cop. ⠀ Finley lives in Winter Springs. He had just dropped his kids at school. He passed a car in the median and figured it was broken down or starting a U-turn. ⠀ It was an unmarked Winter Springs unit. An officer went after him. Finley says he never saw a light and never heard a siren. ⠀ The Tesla tape showed the emergency lights for only a brief moment. Curves and buildings then hid that car. ⠀ On the officer’s radio you can hear, “HE’S TRYING TO TAKE OFF ON ME.” Finley drove the rest of the way home at ordinary speed and rolled into his garage. ⠀ He heard sirens, opened the door, and found g*ns in his face. Neighbors were already watching. ⠀ "This is, argumentatively, a simple traffic violation. And now I have a gun in my face and I'm arrested in my driveway and my neighbors are watching." ⠀ He told them he never saw them and was not running. Officer Schwartz stood in the driveway and said, "I dunno if I'm gonna hit him with the felony side of flee and elude, or I'm going to hit him with all the traffic infractions." ⠀ They filed felony fleeing and eluding. They also filed criminal reckless driving. ⠀ "These are all very serious charges. Fleeing the police is a felony." Finley told Fox 35 the reckless count was a misdemeanor with up to 90 days in jail. ⠀ The charge sat on his record for anyone to see. He paid lawyers and waited almost two years to play the car cameras in court. ⠀ A judge watched the Tesla video, refused to send it to a jury, and signed a judgment of not guilty. FOX 35 reported Finley is now weighing a civil case. ⠀ The chief sat for the same package and said, "Every vehicle stop carries a significant amount of uncertainty.
