BGI-Research and Zhejiang Lab have released two new models built on the Genos genomic foundation model: Genos-Mutation and Genos-Reg. These tools are designed to help researchers study how DNA mutations and cell states shape gene expression, supporting more efficient interpretation of genomic variation and regulation. Available through the BGI DCS Cloud platform.
BGI-Research and Zhejiang Lab have released Genos-m, an open-source foundation model for human-associated microbes. Building on BGI’s Genos framework, Genos-m converts microbial genes, genomes, and metagenomic samples into reusable numerical representations, supporting research in microbiome science, pathogen analysis, and personalized health. Model weights, code, and documentation are publicly available under Apache 2.0.
As Typhoon Bavi approaches the Zhejiang coast, Shanghai has moved into full typhoon-prevention mode. On July 11, Spring Airlines was seen securing parked aircraft and boarding stairs at both Pudong and Hongqiao airports.
During a mass evacuation in Xiaguan, Zhejiang, ahead of Typhoon Bavy, local official Zhao Beilei waved off the camera and said, “Don’t film me — it looks like a publicity stunt.” Her refusal to perform for the lens has since gone viral, with netizens praising her for keeping it real.
Sending our thoughts and support to people across Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai as #TyphoonDolphin# sweeps through the region.
From Optics Valley of China (#OVC#) in #Wuhan#, we wish you peace and safety. 🌈
