The second World Humanoid Robot Games opened at the National Speed Skating Oval ("Ice Ribbon") in Beijing on Saturday night. A total of 2,056 robots from 666 teams across 16 countries on six continents will compete in 51 events over the course of the Games. At the opening ceremony, the 100‑meter preliminary heats were a special highlight. The Tianzhuo team’s robot, developed by Beijing Innovation Centre of Humanoid Robotics, clocked 9.39 seconds, breaking the human 100‑meter world record of 9.58 seconds. In contrast, the best 100‑meter time at last year’s inaugural Games was only 21.50 seconds. In the standing high jump demonstration, the Tiangong Ultra robot from Beijing cleared 2.8843 meters—also surpassing the human world record—and a dramatic improvement over last year’s champion, which jumped just 95.641 centimeters.

The Southern Theater Command of the Chinese People's Liberation Army on Friday tracked and sent warnings to three Philippine aircraft that illegally entered the airspace over China's #HuangyanDao# without authorization from the Chinese government, a Chinese military spokesperson said.
