How does Mike J Mitch of Phantom X create AI series as compelling as The Sage? Since launching Fairground AI TV, we’ve experienced the same challenge facing every AI filmmaker: most audiences don’t yet understand and appreciate how this work is made. To turn the AI-curious into fans who realize the long hours and creativity behind every film we distribute, we’re launching Artist to Artist, a new interview series hosted by @BLVCKLIGHTai and featuring filmmakers defining this genre. Streaming on Fairground AI TV and across our socials, Artist to Artist is built for education, transparency, and honest conversations about where this industry is headed. Here’s a sneak peek of Episode 1, which breaks down why story matters in AI filmmaking through Phantom X’s The Sage and Red Rainbow by Aze Alter. With more episodes on the way, which AI filmmaker should we sit down with next?👇 #aicinema# #aifilmmaking# #aifilms#

Want to see AI Cinema in IMAX? Big Screen Hack London just closed submissions, and the winning film gets more than a trophy: it gets onto Fairground AI TV. Since Monday, October 5th, filmmakers and AI developers have teamed up to make films in just one week. And now that week is now over. Across 3 tracks, there’s more than $50,000 in prizes and credits up for grabs. And the shortlisted films premiere in IMAX this Friday, in front of fans, industry executives, and press. So where does Fairground come in? Through The Greenlight with Fairground, the winning film will be developed into a series and will air on Fairground AI TV. To pick the winner and give feedback on entries, our Founder & CEO Colin Petrie-Norris (@cpetrien) and Head of Production Alex Mills are joining the judging panel. Big Screen Hack brings together two things we love most: the AI filmmaking community in one place and great AI cinema on the big screen. And screens don’t get bigger than IMAX. A massive congratulations to Aaron Jones(@aaronjonesbiz) and the Big Screen Hack team, pulling something of this scale off is not only impressive, but inspiring! Want to be in the room? We have 20 tickets to give away to the screening. Comment “IMAX” and the first 20 get a ticket. And if you go, look out for Neil Petrie, our VP of Studios, who’ll be on the ground meeting AI filmmakers. Come say hi 👋 #AIFilm# #AICinema# #AIFILMS# #AIFILMMAKING#

Over 300 AI filmmakers, industry executives and the AI curious attended AI Creator Day. The inaugural AI Creator Day, organized by @TheWrap and @WhatsTrending, brought our community together in one room and the Fairground team was in attendance. Our Founder & CEO Colin Petrie-Norris (@cpetrien) joined Chris M. Williams (@chrismwil) and David Bianchi (@davidbianchi) on a panel moderated by Sharon Waxman (@sharonwaxman). Meanwhile, our team spent the day with current partners, meeting new AI filmmakers and talking about a big pain point for AI cinema: distribution. If you couldn't attend, here are our 3 takeaways: 1. The AI curious have entered the group chat. A big share of attendees were newer to the industry and they know embracing AI filmmaking is no longer optional. 2. In-person beats social media. Top AI filmmakers and execs were having honest, real conversations that never make it onto social. It gave us a clearer roadmap of where the industry is headed than anything posted online. 3. Our industry is exciting! Everyone in the room is genuinely excited about the future and it reminds us why we love this industry. We're already counting down to AI Creator Day 2027. If you were there, what was your biggest takeaway? #AIFilmmaking# #AICinema# #CreatorEconomy# #aicinema# #aifilms#

We asked the world to send us their best AI Films. Over 400 people answered. After weeks of watching, rewatching, and debating, we're ready to announce the Best of AI Season 2 winners. What made judging so difficult wasn't the volume. It was the quality. From 400 submissions to 200 finalists to 16 Grand Finalists, the bar kept rising. Every cut was painful and second guessed. In the end, we asked: which films built a world you believed in? Which stories stayed with you? Which craft pushed the boundary of what AI cinema can do? Three films answered all three in abundance: 🥇 1st Place - Thea Philopatora by Gertywood (@Gertywood5) 🥈 2nd Place - NOCTARI by Jakob Söe-Pedersen 🥉 3rd Place - Operation Valkyrie II by Jacek Kadaj (@jacek_kadaj) Congratulations to the winners and everyone who submitted. The stories you crafted, and the craft behind them, were extraordinary to watch. This competition is closed. The next one is already in motion. Stay tuned. #AIFilm# #AiFilmmaking# #AICinema# #GenAI#

Why does everyone think AI filmmaking is easy? At AI Creator Day earlier this week, our Founder & CEO Colin Petrie-Norris and David Bianchi spoke about the skill and mastery AI filmmaking demands, and how most of the entertainment industry is still unaware of the time, dedication and cost behind it. David put this wonderfully: "I … want to dispel the notion that producing AI cinema is easy. It's f–king hard, and it's an egregious amount of work." He pointed to a commercial of his that aired at the top of the panel. Total runtime: three minutes and 38 seconds. Behind it: 1,200 renders and more than 200 hours of labor from a team of four. AI filmmaking is not as easy as typing a one-sentence prompt into an AI tool, as a lot of people seem to think. Colin then added that stellar storytelling will decide whether work from AI creators and studios succeeds on distribution platforms: "I think that's the lost art … just telling good stories." "Filmmakers now can have a little story that they're passionate about, create it, and it can be distributed into this big local TV ecosystem." That's exactly why Fairground exists: to showcase the best of AI cinema and dispel the assumptions around the art form. This panel was a great example of how to educate the AI-curious on the realities of AI filmmaking. We're still buzzing from this and the other conversations at the event, and we're grateful to be part of one this important. Thanks to @TheWrap and @WhatsTrending for giving us the stage to have it.

Is the best thing about AI filmmaking the community behind it? At Fairground, we've always been inspired by the AI filmmakers who define this space. These are the people who constantly show up for each other and know that building together beats building apart. That's exactly why we were excited to partner with WVLNGTH, a one-night "synthetic cinema" screening in Brighton built to showcase the best of AI cinema and bring the community together under one roof. There's a lot of chatter about AI filmmaking, but most of it misses an important point. What gets talked about far less is that rooms like this, where people connect, trade inspiration and push each other to improve are the foundation of our industry. Our VP of Studio Partnerships, Neil Petrie, was lucky enough to be in the room and he walked away having seen that community in action. On the big screen that night was work from AI filmmakers Trisha Code (@TrishaCode), Sean Ward (@seanward , David Taylor, Soul Motion Labs @Soulmotionlabs), Barney Miller, BLVCKL!GHT (@BLVCKLIGHTai) and Minouche Hijkoop (@Shinebynous). Neil summed up event best: "Bringing such talented AI filmmakers together and giving them a place to exhibit their work on the big screen, watched by their community, is an easy reminder of how excited and passionate people are about AI cinema and the momentum it continues to build." Huge thanks to HENDO, Suzannah Rowland and the WVLNGTH team for putting together something truly magical. We can't wait for the next one!
