BLACKROCK WEIGHS $5B-$10B INVESTMENT IN SPACEX IPO
The Information reports BlackRock has discussed investing $5B-$10B in SpaceX’s upcoming IPO.
SpaceX is targeting a raise of up to $75B.
A check that size would make BlackRock one of the anchor investors in what could be the largest IPO ever.
The Information says IPO commitments above $1B are extremely rare, with fewer than a dozen examples over the past 25 years.
BlackRock already owns a private SpaceX stake worth at least $300M, but its position is smaller than Fidelity, Baillie Gifford and Franklin Templeton.
SpaceX is expected to begin its official roadshow in early June.
BLACKROCK IS REPORTEDLY IN TALKS TO INVEST UP TO $10 BILLION IN THE SPACEX IPO NEXT MONTH
That would make them one of the largest outside investors in the most anticipated public offering in years.
BlackRock has discussed committing somewhere between $5B and $10B into the SpaceX IPO.
SpaceX is reportedly looking to raise as much as $75 Billion in the process of going public
A $10B check from BlackRock alone would represent one of the largest single IPO investments from an asset manager in history.
The deal is expected to happen next month.
