Cryptographically private AI🫳🎤
Zcash has unparalleled cryptographers, security engineers, and security researchers. And the community is heavily focused on continuous improvement and hardening the network. That's why it engages world class security researchers to look for bugs. And that's why the recent potential exploit was found. It wasn't by accident and it's a vote of confidence, not a cause for alarm. When it comes to any L1, there will be bugs. What's important is that there are world class researchers focused on hardening the network and staying ahead of the bad guys. This has always been and always will be the dynamic of building software that is secure. Onward.

Post-quantum cryptography is becoming an increasingly important area of research across the industry. Our latest report explores what a post-quantum migration path for BSC could look like, including: • ML-DSA-44 transaction signatures • pqSTARK aggregation • Throughput and block propagation trade-offs One important takeaway: The biggest challenge wasn’t consensus. It was the increase in transaction and block sizes once quantum-resistant signatures were introduced. Full report 👇

The first known cryptography is roughly 4,000 years old. Around 1900 BCE a scribe carved hieroglyphs in the tomb of an Egyptian nobleman named Khnumhotep II. In a few places he swapped standard symbols for unusual ones. Scholars don't think this was real secret-keeping. More likely it was for dignity, mystery, or to impress educated visitors. It is the oldest known instance of the technique that would later become cryptography.

We’ve published a technical report evaluating a post-quantum cryptography migration path for BSC. The report covers: • ML-DSA-44 transaction signatures • pqSTARK validator aggregation • Type 0x05 transaction format • Public key storage and verification flow • Cross-region performance benchmarks Benchmark highlights: • Tx size: 110 B → ~2.5 KB • Block size: ~110 KB → ~2 MB • Native transfer TPS: 4,973 → 2,997 One notable result: The primary bottleneck was not signature verification performance, but block byte size and cross-region propagation overhead.
