Today @POTUS signed an EO establishing the Presidential Commission on the United States Space Academy. The Commission will be led by our great @NASAAdmin and will design a @NASA-led federal academy that combines rigorous technical education with leadership, discipline, and a durable commitment to public service. The mission is to prepare the next generation of astronauts, scientists, engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, civil servants, and warfighters. American space superiority will be won by the people we train to explore, secure, and build there. The Proclamation:

SITUATION EXPLAINED: Trump's AI regulator EO has stalled, and it isn't clear why. • The administration circulated a draft EO creating a self-regulatory organization for frontier AI companies, modeled on FINRA. Progress has stalled and it couldn't be learned why • Sacks calls it a horrible idea. FINRA is a sleepy regulator for a mature industry that founders see as protecting incumbent banks • He says the proposal isn't a true SRO at all, since it reports into government with the "self" part as a fig leaf • He calls it a repackaging of Dario's FDA for AI idea, predicts models pile up in an approval queue, and says China wins @theojaffee: "You don't want to over-regulate current models. But you also need to make sure that you can't just have some lab RSI race all the way to superintelligence very rapidly."

Nuclear energy is back in America. Following @POTUS's EO requiring a reactor operating on a military base by September 2028, the @USArmy today selected five companies to build it: Antares, BWXT, General Atomics, Radiant, and Westinghouse. BREAKING: The Supreme Court just issued a ruling ALLOWING Trump's EO to restrict mail-in ballots in 23 states and D.C. As usual, Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson dissented. Big win for election integrity!
