I tried this Kling prompt with Grok Imagine, and the result is excellent. POV girlfriend video, brunette girl in cropped cream lounge top and cozy shorts holding the viewer’s hand while walking forward through a warm sunlit kitchen, then past the kitchen and into the bedroom. soft over-the-shoulder smiles, natural hair movement, realistic iphone handheld camera, slight camera shake, warm golden hour lighting, authentic TikTok vibe, realistic movement, casual intimate atmosphere, 9:16Continuous forward walking only. Do not stop. Do not turn around. Do not walk toward the camera. Natural walking speed. Subtle body movement. Realistic pacing. No slow motion. No dramatic cinematic movement. No dancing. No talking.

Heard from someone in the space that Kling v4 ships in July — and Seedance 2.1 is reportedly landing in July too, so the two go head-to-head this round. v4 is basically aimed at Seedance, so going off the gaps between them, here's where I'd bet v4 puts its work: - Multimodal references: SD2.0's killer feature — one generation pulls in images, video and audio as references at once (up to 9 images). Kling will push here and build out multi-source referencing. - Physics: SD2.0 is genuinely ahead — flips, collisions, multi-body interactions top the benchmarks. v4 will improve on physical realism; water, hair and cloth should hold up better. - Speed: SD is fast and built for volume. Kling leans cinematic and slower, so v4 will optimize generation speed — probably a Turbo tier for volume. - Price: v4 likely costs more than v3 — new models almost never get cheaper. Even so it should still undercut Seedance, which is genuinely expensive. Two bolder bets on what it'll add: lip-synced audio, and single shots stretched to minute length. And with SD2.1 also due in July, the bar only goes up. This is the matchup to watch — I'll come back and check how wrong I was.

Chinese AI labs are doing serious numbers. I looked up all the reported and leaked numbers of the 5 big independent labs: Moonshot (Kimi), DeepSeek, Zhipu (GLM), Kuaishou (Kling), Minimax and the 2 hyperscaler labs: Bytedance (Seedance) and Alibaba (Qwen). The private labs are doing $2.6B in revenue run rate. Still behind the big 2 labs, but 4 of 5 are in the top 25 of global AI companies by revenue. With Kimi K3 dropping and Seedance 2.5 coming soon, China continues to close the gap on LLMs and extend their lead on video. The AI race just does not stop. Disclaimer: some of the numbers on growth, revenue, gross margin and valuations are either being sought, rumored and purported by third party sources and not straight from the company. For example, DeepSeek numbers come from the Information and Zhipu from a Macquarie analyst. The public ones are listed in the Hong Kong exchange where only half year financials are mandatory, not quarterly.
