Chinese FM Wang Yi met with Macky Sall, former President of Senegal and a candidate for the next UN Secretary-General, in Beijing.
As a permanent member of the Security Council, China attaches great importance to cooperation with African countries within the UN, and will participate in the selection process of the next Secretary-General in a responsible and constructive manner. China supports the UN in revitalizing its authority, reinvigorating itself, and better playing its central and leading role in international affairs.
