Sellers: In quarter one of 2026, Donald Trump has executed 3500 trades
Ferguson: Almost as many as Pelosi.
Phillip: Objectively, the amount of money is not the same
Ferguson: That’s insider trading
As the seller, do what you say you're going to do, every single time. It doesn't matter how big or how little the promise is. Your credibility is the sum of every single thing you say you're going to do and actually follow through on. The 5 dollar deal, the 20 dollar deal, the million dollar deal. It all matters. The 100 5 dollar promises you followed through on are what get you the million dollar opportunity. Consistency is everything.
Life happens though, and sometimes it isn't possible to do what you said you were going to do. If that's the case, it should feel urgent to you to explain with 100% transparency why you cannot follow through on what you said you were going to do, and what you are going to do about it. And again, it doesn't matter how small the commitment was. How you handle your buyer when they're most vulnerable is what will end up defining your success.
I learned this as a bartender. It's human nature. You have to communicate. When you're working a packed bar and people are waiting, there is a DRAMATIC difference in someone's patience if they know you're aware of them vs if you never signal awareness. Simply nodding to a patron and telling them you're aware of them makes them 10x more patient than if you keep slinging drinks and never acknowledge them until you're ready to serve them. This is the same everywhere. You have to communicate with your buyer no matter what. People really are patient when they understand what you're thinking and what you're dealing with.
Sometimes it sucks and seems unfair, but it's just how it works. If you are on the seller's side, you are always one broken promise away from getting displaced by the person who followed through. You need to be air tight every single time. Honest every single time you miss. Never let a single thing slip. Take this super seriously forever. Train this muscle aggressively forever and never be lazy about it.
you want b2b sellers so addicted to the game that they'll negotiate a 100% discount on drinks if they come late (>45min). @jeffholoman we love you
this is the b2b equivalent of refreshing your agents from the bathroom
